A puzzling phenomenon for this runner is that on cold dreary Chicago days the wind always seems to be in the runner's face- whether the runner is heading out or turning back. Either the wind changes direction just to annoy the runner, or there is a deeper physio-psychological phenomena at work. Even in life, it appears that one is always going against the wind, no matter which direction one goes.
