Running wild...with mistakes

An alert reader VG pointed out that these little missives of mine have been littered with errors, of late. BC, a person I highly respect, once stated that the 'Spell checker" was the single biggest invention that destroyed good writing. So true!
This author will try to be more careful in the future, but asks the audience for forgiveness for these little crimes and misdemeanors.

The 'Indian warmth' of running

Yesterday I was talking to an Indian woman who has run two half marathons in one year- one can say an MDE (Marathon Distance Equivalent). It is quite rare to find an Indian female runner, let alone one who is interested in distance running. When I was living in Evanston, I used to see a young Indian woman running regularly- I remember she worked for the AMA in the City.

Today the temp reached 70 degrees- on March 17th! It was a gorgeous day- perfect for running. I went in the evening, ran up to downtown and then turned around and covered quite a bit of distance. It was so nice to be able to run in shorts! I had not been able to do that since I returned from India.

Hopefully I get to sneak in some running in Turkey next week!

Runaway Quotes on Running..

Sent by Viswanath:

Running is like mouthwash; if you can feel the burn, it's working.
Brian Tackett

Life is short... running makes it seem longer.
Baron Hansen

When people ask me why I run, I tell them, there's not really a reason, it's just the adrenalin when you start, and the feeling when you cross that finish line, and know that you are a winner no matter what place you got.
Courtney Parsons

People don't know why we run, but it's the hard work you put into practice, and the reward you get from the race.
Courtney Parsons

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise... it's a consistent reward for victory!
Sasha Azevedo

I believe in the runner's high, and I believe that those who are passionate about running are the ones who experience it to the fullest degree possible. To me, the runner's high is a sensational reaction to a great run! It's an exhilarating feeling of satisfaction and achievement. It's like being on top of the world, and truthfully... there's nothing else quite like it!
Sasha Azevedo

Running has never failed to give me great end results, and that's why I keep coming back for more!
Sasha Azevedo

Running is one of the best solutions to a clear mind.
Sasha Azevedo

My greatest ideas stem from running.

Every run is a great run!

People ask why I run. I say, "If you have to ask, you will never understand". It is something only those select few know. Those who put themselves through pain, but know, deep down, how good it really feels.

Run in Sun is Fun...

Today was a pleasant, albeit cool, sunny day. I went for a run at 5:15PM, and it was very pleasant. Unfortunately the jerks on the road were not quite so. A couple of young ladies were taking some kids for walk and were trying to cross a road but no vehicle would stop and let them pass.

Consideration for others....has been run out of civilization..

A sole-ful run

We have had incessant drenching rain for three days in a row, which has resulted in severe flooding.
As I went out for a long run this evening, water got into my shoes and threw a wet sole on my run...Nevertheless, what's bad for the sole can be good for the soul. Cleared up the fog in my mind.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

The key is to run when the soil is wet. The trail is easy to leave.

A Foxy Evening

I went out for a run this evening. It has been raining, actually pouring, the last 48 hours, and the rain finally let up. I went for my longest run of the year. While the runs on the beach in Mamallapuram were shorter, they were much harder. Today's run gave me time to think about tomorrow and reminisce a little. The woman who broke up with me because she thought I was financially reckless...little did she know that I was going to be right. After my run, I was going around the house and spotted a beautiful little fox. My sister was so envious because she loves animals and does a lot to attract them, and I got to see the fruits of her actions.

Time is Running...faster than I can

It was a raining all day today, and slowed to a trickle in the evening when I went for a run. I remembered that we move our clocks forward tomorrow...time takes away what it giveth.

A Warm Day

I cannot believe that my last post was 4 days ago.
Today the temp reached 60 degrees F. Was a really nice day to go running.
I am remembering the run on the beach in India, with the cows and the bathers.
"If you can't recognize me, it is the fault of your eyes.."
is the song by Mukesh that I am listening to..
