On the women's side, the first world record was set by Catherine Ndereba in 2001, and was followed by another record in 2002, set by Paula Radcliffe. Since that time there has been no world record set at Chicago- by men or women.
Are records eluding Chicago, just like good politicians? Is it getting too warm?

True, Stefani...My tongue-in-cheek comment about the weather was related more to the "politicians" of Chicago.
On a serious note marathon weather conditions have changed quite a bit over th years. The marathon itself was moved from the end of Oct to the first half this decade. 2007 Marathon was run under very warm conditions...This site http://www.sportsscientists.com/2008/10/chicago-marathon-2008.html

I looked at your blog and I am delighted that you are doing a movie on Ms. Ndereba. She is a phenomenal runner and an inspiring woman. Female African runners have not quite received their due.
