Runnin...in the Rain

Today started off as a run-of-the-mill day in Gurgaon - hot,s steamy, and sunny at 7 AM. However anyone stepping out at 5:00PM would have seen dark ominous clouds overhead. It then started pouring heavily. As I got ready to leave, our admin assistant got a car to come around to take me to the guest house. As one who does enjoy getting drenched, I walked to the car, to savor this rare occasion of rain. However a few others ran fast to avoid getting wet....perhaps the few situations where they run.
The streets got flooded, even though it rained for just half an hour, and pumps were used to take out the water...Into every life some rain must fall...

The Rainy Day
by Longfellow

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains,and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the mouldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains,and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the mouldering past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart, and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
